Research May 2021

Wisconsin DNR purchased a new Electro-shocking boat for use in the five county area near Wausau on the central Wisconsin river system. Thanks to the efforts of Musky chapters, like ours, and Musky clubs in Wisconsin. 100% of the funds to purchase the boat were donated by local chapters.  Funding started in 2019 and the boat is now fully operational.

First Wisconsin Chapter Muskies Inc. donated $2,000. The boat will be used to shock, catch, and tag all species captured to conduct research.  Weight and length are recorded. 1st WI Muskies inc board member poses next to the new boat and DNR officials, Tim Parks and Jake Thompson, on May 17, at Dale’s Weston Lanes in Wausau, WI. Tim Parks give an update on his research conducted on Mission Lake and Jake Thompson shared some new musky data he collected on Castle Rock Flowage this spring.
